What a Happy Birthday
I had always imagined my baby's first birthday to be elaborate, huge, and fun filled but Lilly's was none of those things. It was small, kinda boring, and anxiety filled(for me). I bought a cake from Sam's Club after a few trial runs of trying to make her one. We bought 8 red balloons and invited our families over.
Lilly wanted to lick the candle, so we let Savanna blow it out
Maybe I shouldnt have waited until Lilly's first birthday to let her have sugar for the first time. She just kept laughing and shoveling it in.
It's all fun and games until someone gets a bite of the strawberry filling. Obviously she doesnt like strawberry filling! Who knew.
Happy to be washing all that sugar off her body
Opening all of her fun presents. Well actually her cousins opened her presents while she ate the wrapping paper.Posted by Jenny at 2:39 PM 2 comments
The too small tub
I have a few pictures of me as a baby in our kitchen sink taking a bath. I have always thought they were really cute. So we decided to try it with Lilly. The kitchen sink was full of dishes so we put her in the bathroom sink. Either the sink is too small or Lilly is too big. I think it is both. Then again Lilly is the size of her 2 year old cousin. Were just glad she had a good time.

Goodbye Sammy
We loved Sammy, but obviously not enough to keep him around. He tracked in mud, drooled on the floor, whined constantly, wasnt a guard dog, wouldnt set foot in the doghouse we bought him, he smelled like a dog, he was expensive, and he pooped in the yard. But there were good things about him; Lilly loved to throw bananas to him from her highchair, he had those puppy dog eyes, he obeyed most of the time, he ate our leftovers, he looked really cute when he was sleeping in his bed, his dad loved him, sometimes he would sleep face down, the clicking noise of his nails on the laminate floor, saying "Sammy, Dad's home!" got him really excited, and he entertained Lilly. Now I am starting to miss him. Posted by Jenny at 12:44 PM 1 comments
