Bad Mothering Skills

So today has been an eventful day. First, Lilly had her first taste of spagetti. Yes, her first. I hate it when she gets dirty and therefore never give her food that is very messy. She absolutely loved it!

Second, I gave her a bath since she was so messy. While she was swimming around I realized she has never had a bubblebath! I am great when it comes to needs, but with wants and fun things I struggle. So I cracked open some bubblebath and gave her some bubbles in her bath. She liked them but was also a little scared of them.

Lastly, as I was rinsing the bubbles off Lilly she stood up and slipped, hitting her face on the side of the tub. She gushed blood and screamed for about 20 seconds and then wanted down so she could play with her toys. Nothing seems to stop her. A few minutes later I noticed that her lip was swollen and a little blue. These pictures dont do it justice. The rest of the day wasnt quite as eventful, we went to Target and cleaned the house.

Straight Hair

The other day I decided I wanted to know what Lilly's hair would look like straight. So I got out my flat iron and went to work. The only way I could her to sit still was to turn on Baby Einstein. She let me do it for about 3 minutes, but it needed about 10 minutes and some Biosilk(because it was so staticy). This was the finished product. I couldnt believe how long and blonde it is. It would have been lots cuter if she would have let me finish, but I still think its cuter curly. But dont worry, she went down for a nap soon after and woke up with tight curls.

This weekend we took a trip to Rexburg. My Dad bought new snow machines and Gus was dying to go ride them. Lilly was an angel on the drive there and back. She is usually horrible in the car and refuses to sleep even when she is totally exhausted. But she slept and then watched like 10 Baby Einstein DVD's. She was amazing!

On Saturday, Gus, Daniel, James, and Brayden went for a 4 hour snow machine ride up on the farm and into the mountains. Gus had a great time but came home really sore. He got his snow machine fix for a while.

Lilly and I had fun too. We visited both of Lilly's great-grandmas and she got to play with her cousin, Brinley. Lilly had a great time roaming the house and making messes(her favorite thing to do). She loved Limey and loved playing with the kitties. Its always fun to hang out with my family, we had a great vacation!

Valentines Day

Every year Valentines seems to get more and more uneventful. I guess it hasnt really been a bad thing. I dont need alot of gifts and stuff, I have a wonderful husband and baby girl. Its far more than I could ever ask for. Gus did bring me flowers and tried to take me to dinner. But, I am on Weight Watchers and figured I would ruin it if I went out to eat. So we stayed home and ate leftovers.

My Bad Eye

On Monday my eye started getting all red, puffy, and very painful. I was just thinking it was pink eye again. I thought thats what i had gotten like 6 times in the last 4 months. On Wednesday it started hurting REALLY bad, so I decided to go to the eye doctor. I dropped Lilly off at the in-laws and went to my appointment. Once I was there, I discovered that I have a Corneal Ulcer. I guess it is really serious, and if I had waited any longer to go in I could have had a way bigger problem and maybe even vision loss. So I have had to go into the doctor everyday since Wednesday and will have to a few days next week. I have been on eye antibiotics that I put in my eye every hour. They were really expensive too. Anyways, I am just glad that we caught it in time. Gus has been walking around all day with one eye shut, seeing what it would be like if I lost my vision in that eye. He thinks he is so funny. I dont find it very amusing.

In the last few weeks Lilly has grown up so much! Its crazy! She tries to put on her own clothes and other peoples as well. She follows orders from me. I will tell her to get me a book to read and she does it. Just a couple of weeks ago it seemes like she didnt understand lots of the things I was saying. Its fun to know that she does, even though she doesnt communicate back. Well, she jabbers alot but I have no clue what she is saying.

What is his name? Christopher Vernon Henshaw. But everyone calls him "Gus". Dont ask me why.

How long have you been married? 3 years

How long did you date? 8 months, then engaged 3 months

Who said I love you first? He did, but it took forever! He didnt tell me until after we had already picked out a ring, in August! We had decided to get married but he just hadnt told me he loved me. He is really slow like that! He wanted to wait for like another year to get married, but I just couldnt wait!

Who is taller? Him. He is 6' 1". I am 5' 4".

Who can sing better? Well, he's good but I think I am better.

Who is smarter? Definately him! He practically carried me through my last year of college. He loves school, thats why he went back and got his Masters.

Who does the laundry? Me, but he does it once in a while. He always irons everything for me.

Who does the dishes? He does. He likes to. He really does. He is my maid. No, seriously he always cleans our house. On Saturdays, he goes through and deeps cleans EVERYTHING!

Who pays the bills? What are bills? I just spend the money.

His guilty pleasure? Golf, Xbox, watching basketball and football

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Right now Gus does. Wherever we go he always sleeps closest to the door cause I get too scared.

Who mows the lawn? He does. He's obsessed with yard work. He loves it.

Who cooks dinner? Definately me. If he ever did I would be looking over his shoulder ordering him around. I am very particular when I cook.

Who kissed who first? He kissed me first, on like our 12th date! He just wanted to take things slow. We drove up by the moutains where it looked over all of Provo/Orem. How BYU is that!

Who asked who out first? He asked me. His good friend and his wife were in town and they wanted him to find a date so they could all go out. He came home and found me sitting on the couch hanging out with his roomate. I was there, he needed a date, so he asked me.

What was your first date? We went to the Gateway. We ate, we saw a movie, and then got hot chocolate at Starbucks.

Who proposed? Him. He took me to all the places we went on our first date. I had no idea he was going to propose because I had already picked out my ring and it wasnt supposed to be done for 2 more weeks! Then he took me to where we first kissed and asked me to marry him. So Sweet!

Who has more siblings? We both have 5 siblings. He has 3 sisters and 2 brothers. I have 1 sister and 4 brothers.

Who wears the pants? When it comes to money, him. But for everything else, I do.
