Girls Trip to Orlando

Last Friday I flew to Orlando to meet up with Gus's mom, his three sisters, and sister-in-law for a girl's trip. We stayed for four days in the beautiful weather and had a wonderful time!

A few of my favorite memories are:

- Getting 3 hours of sleep in 48 hours
- Laying out by the pool for way too long
- Listening to KA make funny noises ALL night long
- The dance parties (I usually just watched)
- Making the last minute decision to go on Tower of Terror (freaky but fun)
- Watching the Wishes firework show
- Sydell calling Cristy 200 times a day
- All the surprises I found in the kitchen sink
- MJ and KA's choreographed dances
- Watching the movie on Norway....WOW
- Jamming all of us into a tiny dressing room while KA tried on clothes
- Sitting in the front on Splash Mountain TWICE and getting drenched
- Taking off my shirt in the middle of Splash Mountain so I didn't freeze to death
- Almost getting my hand taken off on Big Thunder Mountain
- Everyone wearing their red Valentine shirts
- The Toy Story ride
- The stomach game and Susan's sounds
- Going to church for all 3 hours
- Finding out that Forever 21 is my new favorite store
- The Mexican singers
- KA's driving
- The American Idol Show
- Emo's very favorite things

Lovely Lady

Today, Lilly was looking especially delicious. So, I took a picture of her on the steps in front of our house. It turned out lovely.

Going for a Walk

Last week I took some pictures while Lilly and I walked around our complex enjoying the 40-50 degree weather. I just got around to looking at them, but had to post them because I think she just looks so cute.

Lilly gives me this face when she is done taking pictures...Or this one...

A New Car - Finally!

Gus started his new assignment three weeks ago up in Herndon, VA which is about 25 minutes away from where we live. Since it's not accessible via Metro, he and has been taking the car to work everyday. That means Lilly and I have been stuck at home going crazy!

We've been looking for a new car for weeks, and finally we found one. It's a 2007 Toyota Highlander with low miles (still under warranty) and even a lower price tag. When we saw it on Craigs List Gus said, "Wow, now that's what a sweet deal looks like!" We took it for a test drive and fell in love. A couple days later we got the title transfered and the registration complete. Me and Lilly couldn't be happier.

Lilly Loves to "Gwah"

Recently, Lilly started stealing my pencils and pens and drawing (or as Lilly says, "gwahing") on everything. She gets super focused when she draws, and I must say that it has made Sacrament Meeting on Sundays a little easier. Last night I snapped a few pictures of her while she was in action. After every line she drew she had to come show me and tell me what it was.

This is what she came up with after about 45 minutes.

Lilly The Homeless Loves Popcorn

Lilly's new favorite thing to do is steal my grocery sacks and trash bags from under the sink and shovel them full of toys, books, shoes, and anything else she can get her hands on. There have been many times when I couldn't find the remote or my cell phone and have had to empty out about five grocery sacks before they show up. After she has filled every sack she loads them onto her grocery cart and pushes it around the house like I have seen many homeless people do.

On Super Bowl Sunday, Lilly helped me make white chocolate popcorn. I have never let Lilly watch the popcorn pop because my dad always told us to stay away from the popper or a kernel might take our eye out. It obviously scared me enough that I have kept Lilly away while I am making it. But tonight I was feeling rebellious and Lilly kept crying on my leg because she wanted to see. Well, I finally gave in and I'm glad I did because I dont think anything could have brought more joy into Lilly's life. She pointed and screamed, "Wow, what's that!" every time a kernal popped. A few times she almost fell off the counter in a panic when kernels started getting really wild. It made me want to make popcorn everyday.

Photo Shoot

Lilly hadnt had portrait-style pictures taken for a while and I thought I would try it out myself before I took her somewhere to get them done. I think they turned out great and now I dont have to spend money to get them done! It is REALLY hard to get Lilly to smile and then when she finally does, she does her new weird smile. So this first smile was a real treat.
