3 Years!

Well today is me and Gus's 3 year anniversary! It has been 3 wonderful, long, fun years. We had big plans for the big 3. Gus's mom was going to watch Lilly while we went to SaltLake. We were going to go to the movies(first time in a year!), eat a little dinner, and stay the night at Little America. Well things didnt go according to plans when last night I decided it was my turn to get the flu. We all new it was coming, we just didnt know when.

This year Christmas was in Rexburg. Everyone was there, so it was really fun and loud. It was a good trip until Gus came down with the flu on Christmas Eve. I felt so bad for him. On Christmas morning I ended up opening all of Lilly's presents while she ate the paper. Santa didnt bring much for Lilly this year since she already has way too many toys(Our front room sometimes looks like a daycare). She mostly got books and clothes. She had a fetish with the tree since we dont have one at our house and decided to help herself to a glass ball off the tree and bit it like an apple. On the way home to Utah, Lilly came down with the flu and started puking. It was the first time she has ever really thrown up and she had no clue how to do it. It was sad. Two down one to go, I was sure I would get it soon. The day after we arrived home we took Lilly to the doctor for some antibiotics for her cold that she has had for about 2 weeks. While we were there we found out she also has an ear infection. All things considered she has been a really good girl to have the flu, a cold, a cough, and an ear infection all at the same time. Well that was our Chrismas.

Lilly's new Pottery Barn chair she got as an early Christmas gift because we
couldnt take it to Rexburg

At Gus's family Christmas Party, these are all the cousins kids. Can you guess where Lilly is. I'll give you a hint: She is the only one screaming.

Lilly had no idea what was going on Christmas morning. I ended up opening all her presents.

Lilly was in love with Brandt the whole trip. She would cry when I would take her from him.

Satan Santa

Seeing Santa wasnt all Lilly expected. The second her bum hit his lap she was ready to get right back off. I had thoroughly expected her to love Santa since she loves strangers. She always tries to go home with random people we dont know, so this wasnt the reaction I was expecting. It was priceless. When Gus finally picked her up off Santa's lap, she was shaking. This was the Santa from our ward Christmas party.

Frosty Friday

On Friday night we met up with Megan, Mike, and the kids at Temple Square to see the lights.

Bundled up really tight in her marshmallow coat

On Saturday we woke up to a winter wonderland. Lilly was so excited! She stood at the window, screamed, and yelled, "Whats that?" over and over again. She had never seen anything so wonderful in her short little life. So later in the day after we had run some errands, we let Lilly discover what that white stuff was. She loved pulling snow off the top of the cars, eating it, and then feeding it to her dad. Yummy!

I guess I have a really easy, good natured toddler. I didn’t know it until people kept pointing out how sweet and easy to please Lilly is. I should have noticed the transition since she was a horrible newborn. Yes, she has way too much energy, throws tantrums once in a while, and is Satan at church, but way easier then lots of other children I know. From morning to night she plays with her toys by herself and never really cries or whines. In groups, when other children take toys from her she doesn’t seem to care. She would let anyone take her home with them. She goes to sleep at 7 pm and wakes up around 9 am (that’s 14 hrs of sleep!). Even though some days it doesn’t feel like it, I guess I have a pretty easy little girl.
