A Day at the Zoo

Since Gus works 9 hours every day he gets every other Friday off. This Friday we went to the DC Zoo. Lets just say it is going to be one of those memories that I think back on and remember it being a "fun trip to the zoo" even though it really wasnt. I have lots of those. Like a Disneyland trip 3 1/2 years ago. We went on New Years day. There were a million people there and we had to stand in line for hours! It was not a fun day. But when I look back without REALLY thinking about it, I remember it being a fun day. I dont know why I do this. Friday at the Zoo is going to be one of those days.

It wasnt supposed to be a very hot or humid day, but it definately was. It was SO hot. It also isnt that great of a zoo. The Hogle Zoo is way better than this zoo. There were hardly any animals. It was really weird. We tried to make the best of it and let Lilly dance in the Mist Machine things they have all over the zoo. She was soaked when she got done shakin' it.

The tigers were pretty cool. They kept fighting and growling really loud. Lilly was freaked out. A group of 10 year olds were there for school and they were chanting, "Fight, Fight". It was funny.

After a long day at the Zoo with lots of sunscreen, Lilly still managed to come home with a sunburn. I didn't wear any sunscreen and didn't even get a little red.

I can't believe how big she is. She's huge! Hopefully the rest of your adventures will turn out better.

I'm glad Lilly finally got to go outside! Maybe she find a job at the zoo.
